Physiotherapy or Physical Therapy (P.T.) is a Movement Science with an established theoretical and scientific base and widespread clinical applications in the Prevention, Restoration & Rehabilitation, Maintenance and Promotion of optimal physical function. Physiotherapists diagnose & manage movement dysfunction by enhancing physical and functional abilities. This physical dysfunction may be the sequelae of involvement of any of the systems like Musculo skeletal, Neurological, Cardiovascular, Respiratory or other body systems. These practitioners contribute to society as well as to the profession through examination, diagnosis, prognosis, practice, teaching & administration.
Physiotherapy is a rehabilitation profession with a presence in all health care delivery streams like hospitals, long-term care facilities, home care, community-based clinics, schools, private practice clinics and primary care networks.
